3K - $70K a year Summary Ensure store managers lead stores to meet goals, continually evaluating and improving own and others' performance, and evaluating and improving retail processes, performing tasks of subordinates as needed to ensure store goals are met and or exceeded.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide and ensure SMILES customer service is given to all customers and donors receive prompt, courteous service.
Adjusting store processes and/ or assigned employee task focus based on sales and processing figures.
Supervises and support store staff for optimal success.
Must provide an accurate schedule to all subordinates that provides your availability.
Must create an open door policy environment that encourages communication and transparency.
Provides leadership that exhibits and represents the values of the organization by always projecting a positive and reinforcing message to subordinates.
Hires and completes hands on training to management staff for all assigned retail locations.
Insures compliance with established security, sales, money handling, and recordkeeping procedures and practices for all assigned retail locations.
Sets measurable and attainable goals for subordinate staff and communicates effectively to ensure understanding thereof.
Verifies that the quality and quantity of textiles and the production of wares is adequate to obtain sales and production quotas.
Open and/or closes a Retail Store at least once a month in absence of Store Management.
Coordinates shipments and makes adjustments to merchandise categories and production schedules as needed.
Responds to customer questions, problems and complaints, resolving issues to maintain customer satisfaction.
Insures that merchandise is priced in accordance with established standards.
Implements seasonal planograms, floor sets, store signage, and sales promotion activities.
Monitors and evaluates business plan and make recommendations for improved financial results to the Vice President of Donated Goods.
Ability to complete and implement all subordinates job task.
Leads team projects as assigned by the Vice President of Donated Goods.
Reports known or suspected security and/or theft problems to Loss Prevention.
Serves as a member of the Retail Management Team.
Reports the need for building and equipment repairs to the Vice President of Retail.
Performs other job-related tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Retail.
Execute 1 site visit per month.

Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise store managers.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, performance appraisals, composing/ managing budget, rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing/ resolving problems.

Education and Experience Associate's Degree (A.
A.
) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Business or related field and five (5) years of retail management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, reaching, stooping or similar activities.
May also require frequent lifting of moderately heavy items up to 35 lbs and for certain positions, frequent climbing of stairs, ladders or step stools may be required.
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
(with assistance if over 50 lbs.
).
Requires 80% of work week being on-site in the Retail Store contributing to the success of subordinates not to include office work.
Requires working at least three Saturdays per month in backrooms to assist with incoming donations and customer traffic.
Work involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions (e.
g.
working outside in varied weather, working around moving machinery, carts or vehicles with loud noises, or with irritating chemicals.
) Employee may be required to use personal protective equipment such as masks, gowns, etc.
